But…what does that mean…and how did this all begin?
A long time ago, on a long journey home, a trip up the motorway and a number of google searches later, Jack, Chill-Chain’s founder, discovered that most lorries return home with nothing in!
How crazy, he thought. Why is this, he wondered. “Someone must do something to fix this!” he shouted!
And so, Chill-Chain was invented.
In 2019, we launched a digital marketplace, revolutionising transport procurement. In 2020, we used this to start managing elements of retailers' supply chains. In 2021, we went further and helped manufacturers with their road woes and Brexit blows.
All of this, to take empty vehicles off the roads.
With more and more shipments picked up through Chill-Chain, we could see how supply chains could work more efficiently and use their existing resources more effectively.
As we started highlighting these to our customers we began to realise how little access to data the logistics industry actually had. We had this small snapshot of supply chains. But we needed to zoom out to see the whole picture.
The lightbulb moment! Our customers needed one place to see their entire supply chain; end-to-end.
Many tired engineers later, our licensed software was born. (A quick note before HR starts getting calls, they aren’t actually tired. Chill-Chain treats its employees well, that was just for dramatic effect).

And tech is always going to be more accurate than us humans! (No disrespect, it is more accurate than all of us. Do you know how many times I got the squiggly line under words while writng this?!)
